EchoStar looks to Asian expansion with AsiaSat

Satellite operator AsiaSat has formed a joint venture with US DTH pay-TV operator EchoStar to deliver a DTH service to Taiwan and other selected markets in Asia.
The new service will broadcast from AsiaSat 4 at 122° East. It is expected to launch in the second half of this year.Â
