TeliaSonera expands Norwegian footprint

TeliaSonera’s subsidiary NextGenTel has acquired the broadband and voice-over-IP business of Tele2 Norway for NOK100m (€11m) in an all-share deal.

Tele2 Norway has about 97,000 broadband subscribers in Norway, of which about 23,000 also take VOIP services. The move will give NextGenTel a 22% share of the Norwegian ADSL market.
