Numericable offers low-cost triple-play for HLM residents

French cable operator Numericable is to make a low-cost triple-play service available to tenants of so-called Habitation à Loyer Modéré (HLM) low-cost rent-controlled housing.

For €4 a month, HLM tenants will gain access to 2Mbps internet access, digital-terrestrial standard and HDTV channels, 40 international channels, 30 radio stations and a fixed phone line to receive calls and make emergency calls.  

Numericable has also teamed up with environmental efficiency organisation EFFINEO to enhance its SUN internet service by enabling residents to to gain access in real time to information about their consumption of water, electricity and heating.
