German cable operators opt for XTV

German cable operators Tele Columbus and PrimaCom have selected NDS’s integrated DVR solution XTV to launch HD DVR services.

NDS said XTV gives viewers the ability to record TV content while viewing another programme. Subscribers can also pause, record, play back, rewind and fast forward recorded content. The new hybrid HD DVR devices offered by Tele Columbus and PrimaCom will include two cable tuners and an Ethernet connection. Both operators started using NDS’s VideoGuard conditional access technology last year.
