QTel expands IPTV reach

Qatar-based telco QTel has announced that its IPTV service is now available to 80% of the country’s population, according to local reports.

Its Mosaic TV Plus service has now signed up 10,000 customers, which accounts for approximately 10% of the country’s broadband subscriber base. Qtel recently upgraded its broadband network in order to double the maximum broadband speed. The upgrade also means that the IPTV service can be delivered at up to 3km from an exchange.
