Arris and OpenTV join for ad insertion technology

Cable technology group Arris and interactive TV specialist OpenTV have designed an advanced advertising solution for digital TV operators.

The so-called ad insertion-in-a-box solution combines Arris’s ConvergeMedia SkyVision advertising applications suite and OpenTV’s Eclipse campaign management product. It includes digital splicers, campaign management systems, cue management and encoding/transcoding, installation services and technical assistance to support cable operators. 

Arris said the solution supports the advertising sales, insertion, reporting, campaign management and related functions necessary for ad sales operations and is targeted initially at Europe.
