RRSat expands access to Africa

Content management and global distribution company RRSat Global Communications Network has expanded its access to Africa via the Telstar 11N satellite.

RRSat said it had started operating a new “multi-channels per carrier platform” on the satellite, located at 37.5º West. Telstar 11N has Ku-band transponders to support a range of video and data applications in North America, Europe and Africa. RRSat said its new platform will enable it to serve broadcasters that want to offer TV and IP-based services to the African market, by connecting to cable operator and DTH providers on the continent.
