ActiveVideo acquires Avinity Systems

Interactive TV specialist ActiveVideo has acquired fellow Hilversum-based interactive TV technology provider Avinity Systems, giving it a stronger presence in Europe.
Both ActiveVideo and Avinity use thin-client technology to deliver server-based streamed interactive TVÂ services, allowing applications to be delivered to legacy set-top boxes.
Avinity director Ronald Brockmann will serve as managing director for ActiveVideo Europe.
