Israeli DTH operator Yes increased its subscriber base by 2% year-on-year to 560,000 at the end of March. However, ARPU declined to NIS228 (40.7m) in the first quarter of 2009 from NIS231 a year earlier.
The operator, 29.8% owned by telco Bezeq, narrowed its net loss to NIS1m from NIS66m a year earlier. Operating profit was up 146% to NIS66m for the quarter while revenue remained flat at NIS384m.
Bezeq recorded net profit of NIS608m. Revenue increased 2% to NIS3.16bn during the quarter, while EBITDA rose 18% to NIS1.29bn. The number of phone lines declined by 5% during the 12 months to the end of March but the telco saw a 4.2% rise in DSL subscribers.
