German digital dividend vote postponed
Germanys Federal Council, the Bundesrat, has postponed a vote that was intended to approve the governmentÂs proposal for redistributing the countryÂs digital dividend, according to local reports.
The delay has reportedly been caused by the disruption that could be caused to the spectrumÂs other uses, including TV broadcasting and wireless microphones, if it is used for data services. The Bundesrat needs to approve the governmentÂs proposal on this matter before it can be passed to GermanyÂs Parliament, the Bundestag, which begins its summer break next month.Â
