Com Hem goes on-demand

Swedish cable operator Com Hem has announced plans to launch an on-demand service.

Com Hem On Demand will give users the chance to catch up with previously aired shows as well as purchase movies and music videos on-demand. Approximately 14,000 residents of Stångåstaden in Linköping will test the service before a full roll out at the end of summer. By the end of the year, Com Hem expects it to be available to 500,000 households. The company said the on-demand service was its biggest venture since it launched digital TV ten years ago.
