ITV sees interest in Friends

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has been approached by a number of parties interested in acquiring its social networking operation Friends Reunited, according to reports.

The Generations Network, the US owner of Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com, and Scotland-based Brightsolid, the owner of Findmypast.com, are among various parties that have approached ITV about the site, which is valued at approximately £40m (€45m). ITV paid £175m for Friends Reunited in 2006.
