Akado restructures TV offer away from big basic

Russian cable operator Akado has revamped its TV offer to allow customers to choose individual thematic packages rather than be forced to take a compulsory basic offer.

Akado subscribers will now be able to choose one or more of six packages covering cinema, kids, sport, interests, knowledge and a mixed package. The cinema package will cost RUB290 (€6.60), while the other packages will cost RUB80 each.

Akado also plans to adopt a new frequency plan over the summer to improve the quality of reception of its digital channels. the operator currently has about 320,000 digital and 900,000 analogue subscribers.
