VimpelCom launches Beeline TV in Moscow

Russian fixed and mobile telco VimpelCom has launched IPTV in Moscow using Microsoft Mediaroom technology.

The service, Beeline TV, follows trials conducted under the Corbina TV brand. VimpelCom and Microsoft signed an agreement to deliver the service on the Microsoft Mediaroom platform last May.

The service will include digital video recording, video-on-demand with about 3,000 titles, and 125 channels including four HD channels. VimpelCom will also offer the Nash football channel, including matches from the Russian premier league, the Russian championship and indoor Russian championship. A basic package of 100 channels will be available for RUB270 a month (€6.20), with the extended package with 125 channels sold for RUB495. VOD shows will be available for between RUB5-100.

Beeline currently has over 800,000 broadband customers in Russia.
