Unitymedia begins commercial launch of DVR

German cable operator Unitymedia has begun a full commercial launch of its DVR service, following an earlier soft launch of the product.

The Unitymedia service, based on the Samsung DCB-P850G box, with a 160GB hard drive, will be the subject of a large-scale advertising campaign this month. The DVR service is available for €5 a month to triple-play customers, or €10 to digital cable-only subscribers.
