Setanta offered EPL payment reprieve

Sports broadcaster Setanta Sports has had the deadline for a £35m (€39m) payment to the English Premier League (EPL) extended, giving the troubled broadcaster a financial reprieve.

The company has been battling to raise new funds and is also currently in the middle of a review of its business. It is reportedly in talks with UK satellite pay-TV platform BSkyB that could see its channels being offered to subscribers as part of one of its channel packages, a move that would change the company’s business model towards a wholesale channel provider.
