Premiere considers Sky Deutschland name change

German pay-TV operator Premiere is set to be renamed Sky Deutschland, according to a report in German daily Die Welt.

Last month, News Corp, owner of UK pay-TV operator BSkyB, increased its stake in Premiere to 30.5% from 25% in a move that signaled the completion of a two-step €450m capital increase that was announced last December.

Premiere is expected to confirm the name change at an annual general meeting in June.
