Express AM44 goes into operation

Russian satellite operator RSCC’s Express AM44 satellite has been put into operation at the 11° West orbital position.

Express AM44 will replace Express-A3, which is being retired. The new satellite is equipped with 16 Ku-band, 10 C-band and one L-band transponders, and includes two steerable Ku-band, one C-band and one L-band antennas to provide coverage over Europe, the Middle East, Africa and America. The satellite was developed by ISS Reshetnev and Thales Alenia Space.
