Modern Times Group-owned Viasat Broadcasting is to launch Swedens first dedicated ice hockey channel.
Viasat Hockey will be available on the Viasat DTH platforms as part of the operatorÂs premium sports package, and for distribution via third party networks. The channel will launch at the start of the countryÂs ice hockey season in the autumn. It will feature exclusive coverage of SwedenÂs HockeyAllsvenskan league, as well as the annual IIHF World Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League, the KHL and EuropeÂs Champions Hockey League.
The launch of Viasat Hockey follows the acquisition of the exclusive broadcasting rights to the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan league for the next four years. â¨Viasat has also extended its exclusive broadcasting rights to the KHL international ice hockey league for another three years.
