Com Hem struck by lightning

Swedish cable operator Com Hem suffered a major outage on its network yesterday evening after its power grid was struck by lightning during a storm.

The incident resulted in Com Hem’s digital TV, broadband and telephony services across its 800,000 subscribers being put out of action for several hours from 20:00. Com Hem said it would review the sufficiency of its back-up systems in the event of a similar incident occurring in the future.
