Bezeq gives Yes merger all-clear

Israeli telco Bezeq’s board of directors has given the proposed merger with its DTH subsidiary Yes the green light.

Israel’s Antitrust Authority had previously appealed against the merger, claiming that Bezeq should not be allowed to control both satellite and IPTV broadcasting platforms. However, the Restricted Trade Practices Tribunal agreed that Bezeq should be allowed to increase its stake in Yes beyond the 50% it currently owns, although it attached a number of conditions to its decision.
