NDS wins Kabel Deutschland digital TV business

German cable operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has chosen NDS to provide a full range of conditional access and interactive TV technologies to its digital TV subscribers.

NDS will begin implementing its technologies with KDG over the coming weeks. It said the transition would have no impact on the delivery of services to KDG subscribers.

KDG has previously used conditional access from Nagravision, which has suffered a series of reverses in the German market, with players including Premiere and Kabel BW opting to use NDS’s technology.
