Vine goes live on the web

Twitter’s mobile video service Vine has gone live on the web for the first time at Vine.co.

The site will let Vine users view their home feed, view other Vine users’ profiles and like, comment, and share videos just as they can on Vine’s mobile apps.

For the web version of the service, Vine has also added a ‘TV mode’, which it says will allow viewers “to view the collection of videos in sequence and in full screen mode.”

Twitter launched Vine last year, allowing users to post and share six-second video clips.

Vine said the new desktop service is “just a first step toward bringing you a richer, more enjoyable web experience. We look forward to introducing more improvements in 2014.”
