ThinkAnalytics appoints former Vubiquity exec as CEO

TV search and recommendation specialist ThinkAnalytics has appointed former Vubiquity executive Gabriel Berger as CEO.

Berger has more than 20 years’ experience in the media and broadcast technology sector, most recently as executive vice president of sales and operations at Vubiquity prior to its sale to Amdocs.

Before that he was senior vice-president of sales at DigitalSmiths before the company was acquired by TiVo.

ThinkAnalytics CTO Peter Docherty described Berger as a “fantastic addition to the executive team with a strong track record in helping fast-growth technology businesses to achieve their full market potential.”

Berger said: “ThinkAnalytics is a technology powerhouse in the TV search, recommendations and viewer analytics space and a natural fit for my experience and skill set.”

“I’m fascinated by the intersection of artificial intelligence and big data within entertainment and the need for actionable analytics that allow pay TV and OTT players to fully engage with their customers and monetize their content as the battle for eyeballs intensifies.”

The hire comes after a strong 2017 for ThinkAnalytics, during which it added 14 new customers and increased revenues and profits. The company now claims to serve an average of 2 billion recommendations per-day to more than 200 million subscribers under license.
