TVPlayer agrees ITV pay-per-view streaming rights

TVPlayerUK over-the-top TV service, TVPlayer, has agreed a deal with ITV to provide exclusive streaming services for the UK broadcaster’s pay-per-view content.

The deal kicks off this weekend with ITV Box Office’s coverage of the IBO world super middleweight boxing championship bout and will then apply to future ITV pay-per view content.

The fight between super-middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. and former three-time world champion Arthur Abraham will take place on July 15.  TVPlayer  viewers who pay £16.95 will be able to stream the coverage on desktop, iOS, Android and Amazon Fire Stick.

“Pay-per-view is a natural extension for TVPlayer, which is the only legal online aggregator of live TV in the UK. We are looking forward to delivering a range of events on a pay-per-view basis alongside ITV Box Office in the future,” said TVPlayer chief operating officer, Rob Hodgkinson.

ITV Box Office business development manager, Ben Halabi, added: “TVPlayer has built a robust streaming platform that can support the rapid influx of customers for a pay-per-view event.

“With this partnership, we can offer our audience the same high-quality content they have to come to expect, as well as additional content and do so through a greater number of devices. We also anticipate that the fight will play well with TVPlayer’s millennial audience watching both in real time and catching up after the event.”
