Liberty Global SVP of programming Peter Haggart is leaving the company.

Haggart originally joined Liberty Global’s content arm Chello Media to start up a specialist on-demand business unit. His remit then evolved to cover marketing, creative services, business development and programming, prior to heading up the unit.

When Chello Media was sold to AMC Networks International in 2012, Haggart and his team were transferred to Liberty Global. He subsequently worked on buildiong the company’s video-on-demand proposition, as well as helping build its premium pay TV propositions, leading content acquisitions and negotiations with the Hollywood studios and managing the programming account relationship with AMC NI.

Prior to joining Chello Media, Haggart’s career included senior roles at Walt Disney TV International and Warner Bros Home Video.

“I’ve had a phenomenal experience, working with so many talented people, latterly in helping Liberty Global become the industry leader that is today. We’ve been at the forefront in pioneering advanced VOD services across Europe and I have enjoyed almost every minute,” he said.
