Globecast strikes deal with Intelsat for TRT World distribution

Globecast has struck a multi-year deal with satellite operator Intelsat to take the English-language version of Turkish news channel TRT world into the Americas and Asia.

Globecast will use Intelsat satellites to distribute the English version of TRT World in high definition format to cable outlets in Asia and the Americas via the Intelsat 20 and Intelsat 21 satellites using IntelsatOne terrestrial fibre and teleport services.

Globecast will distribute TRT World via Intelsat 20, located at 68.5° East degrees, which provides DTH services to Africa and the Indian Ocean region and  Intelsat 21, located at 302° East, one of four satellites comprising Intelsat’s video neighborhoods serving the Latin America region.
