Liberty Global, Virgin ranked among top UK employers

Liberty Global, Virgin and the BBC ranked among the UK’s top 10 employers, according to LinkedIn’s 2017 Top Companies list.

The professional network said it had analysed “billions of actions” by its 23 million UK members to highlight the top companies professionals in the UK most want to work for.

Liberty Global ranked as the top telecoms or broadcast brand, placing at number five in the overall list – behind John Lewis in first place, ASOS in second, Arcadia Group in third and Harrods in fourth.

Virgin placed seventh behind sixth-place Sainsbury’s. The rest of the top ten was made up of Google in eighth place, Facebook in ninth and the BBC in tenth.

Sky and Amazon made it into the top-20 companies, ranking at number 12 and number 19 respectively.

“As competition for top talent gets increasingly fierce, leading businesses are investing similar amounts of focus and creativity to stand out to employees as they do to promoting their brand, product or service to buyers,” said Henry Clifford-Jones, director, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions.
