Vivendi names top CNews journalist to head up special projects

Vivendi has named Virginie Chomicki as director of special projects, charged with developing “prospective and innovation projects” with a particular focus on content and new synergies.

Chomicki, who will report to Vivendi chief operating officer Stéphane Roussel, previoiusly worked on the development of the CNews channel.

Canal+ news service iTélé was rebranded as CNews in 2015 as part of a wider rebranding service that saw free-to-air channels D8 and D17 remained C8 and C17. Chomicki was named as deputy CEO of iTélé just ahead of the rebrand, having previously worked on international political coverage for French international channel TV5 Monde. At iTélé she was charged with bringing Canal+ group content to the channel and forging new partnerships.
