Freesat updates TV genre list

UK free-to-air satellite platform, Freesat, is updating its TV guide genre list, introducing international and faith categories.

The update, which is due to come into force tomorrow, will result in a several channels being reallocated.

Rishtey and Colors will be among the channels that will be included in the new international genre, while channels such as the Community Channel, Irish TV and Forces TV will move to the entertainment category.

In total the new Freesat TV guide will feature 15 genre categories: all channels; entertainment; HD; news and sport; movies; music; children; international; faith; shopping; adult; gaming and dating; on-demand; regional; and radio.
