Cisco video revenues boosted by China

ciscoCisco’s service provider video business turned in an 18% increase in revenues in the company’s fiscal third quarter, contributing to an overall increase in revenue of 3% to US$12 billion.

The figure excluded the service provider video consumer premises equipment business that Cisco sold to Technicolor, with that deal closing in the second quarter.

On a conference call following the company’s results, chief financial officer Kelly Kramer said that the growth in the remaining service provider video business reflected ongoing strength in the Chinese market.

During the quarter, Cisco added to its video technology expertise by acquiring cloud based video infrastructure and collaboration software business Acano.
