Paramount Channel launches in Italy

Viacom’s Paramount Channel is launching in Italy.

The Viacom International Media Networks channel, which is programmed with new and classic movies and movie-related programme, will be carried on DTT in the country and roll out on February 27.

Paramount said the service will be carried in 90 million homes in total with the Italian launch. It is carried in several European markets, launching in France in 2013, and the HD version in Poland last year. It has also launched in Russia and Hungary among other territories.

“We are excited to announce the arrival of Paramount Channel in Italy,” said Raffaele Annecchino, executive VP and managing director for VIMN South Europe, Middle East and Africa.  “Paramount Channel is already present in several of our territories and the expansion into Italy further strengthens the position of Paramount Channel as the fastest growing brand in VIMN’s international portfolio.”
