Molotov signs partnership with Samsung in France

MolotovMolotov, the new French OTT service from former Canal+ boss Pierre Lescure, has signed a deal with Samsung Electronics France ahead of its official launch early this year.

The TV service will now be available across the entire Samsung product range sold in France – including smart TVs, tablets and mobiles, as well as a product designed exclusively for the Gear S2 smartwatch.

Molotov will offer live TV access and catch-up content from any device, allowing users to bookmark programming, discover new shows and share their experience via social media.

“We are very pleased to form a partnership with the leader in consumer electronics, enabling Molotov to boost its expansion and its reputation with the entire client and prospect base of this great brand, Samsung,” said Molotov co-founder and CEO Jean-David Blanc, commenting on the deal.

Molotov first unveiled its web-powered service last June and has since been conducting trials ahead of its full commercial launch. The firm signed a smart TV deal with LG last month.
