RTS unveils awards shortlist

New RTS logo ranged left.epsThe Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced the shortlist for its RTS Craft & Design Awards 2014-15.

The awards cover 27 categories, recognizing skills in programme production, with three awards also presented at the Jury chairs’ discretion.

Cilla, The Eichmann Show, Fortitude, The Keith Lemon Sketch Show, Pets – Wild At Heart and Wolf Hall picked up three nominations each. ITV’s Cilla is nominated for Effects – Digital, Production Design – Drama and Costume Design – Drama, along with The Eichmann Show. which has also been nominated for Director – Fiction and Editing – Picture Enhancement.

Fortitude and Wolf Hall have been nominated in the Sound – Drama category. Fortitude will also compete in the Design – Titles and Effects – Special categories, while Wolf Hall is nominated for Drama awards in Editing and Photography.

The Keith Lemon Sketch Show is nominated in the Entertainment and Non Drama Productions category, with nominations for Costume Design, Make-Up Design and Production Design. Strictly Come Dancing also appears on the Entertainment and Non Drama Productions nominations list for Costume Design. The programme is also nominated for an award in Make-Up Design.

In the new Directors – Fiction category Alice Troughton (Cucumber), Paul Andrew Williams (The Eichmann Show) and Julian Farino (Marvellous) are shortlisted, while Colette Camden (What Do Artists Do All Day? Sue Wester), Edward Watts (Escape From ISIS) and Dan Edge (Outbreak: The Truth About Ebola) are nominated for the Director – Non-Fiction award.

Pets – Wild At Heart, the two part series for BBC One, is nominated in the non-fiction genre in three categories: Editing – Documentary & Factual, Music – Original Score and Photography – Documentary/Factual & Non Drama.

The winners will be announced at the London Hilton Park Lane on November 30.
