Netia and TVN add Eleven Sports services

Netia 2Polish telecom service provider Netia is adding new sports channels Eleven and Eleven Sports to its TV offering, while broadcaster TVN Group is to add Eleven Sports to its OTT platform player.pl.

The sports channels will be offered as part of Netia’s Sport i Emocje package. The channels will be available free of charge to all Netia GigaOferty subscribers until the end of September.

TVN will make both channels free of charge to registered users of player.pl. The platform is already streaming Eleven, which launched on August 2.

Eleven is a sports channel that includes content such as Italia Seri A, French Ligue 1, English FA Cup, Belgian Jupiler Pro League and Scottish Premier League football.

Eleven Sports, which will launch tomorrow, will include coverage of European Champions League football and handball, ATP 250 tennish tournaments and Formula E motorsports. The channels will broadcast 24 hours a day in HD with a Polish-language commentary.

We are very happy to take the next step in our cooperation with TVN, as we build distribution of our channels and show our viewers in Poland the quality and expertise of Eleven Sports Network, through top sport events like Serie A TIM, Ligue 1, Velux EHF Handball Champions League, Formula E  and many more,” said Danny Menken, managing director of Eleven Sports Network.

Of the Netia deal, Menken said: “We are very pleased with our cooperation with Netia. We have ambitious plans and attractive content that we want to bring to sports fans. This agreement will bring us closer to realizing our goal, which is to give our channel a wide audience, so that Polish fans will be able to watch popular sporting events.”

UK-based Eleven Sports Network launched this year, with channels available in Belgium, Malaysia, Poland and Singapore. In Poland. Eleven Sports Network struck a deal to launch the channels on Belgacom/Proximus TV in Belgium last month.
