US online video ad revenues hit US$3.3 billion

Online video adverting revenues in the US reached climbed 17% year-on-year in 2014 to reach US$3.3 billion (€3.1 billion), according to stats from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).

Digital video advertising was classified by the IAB as a component of display-related advertising, which totalled US$13.5 billion in 2014. This accounted for 27% of overall digital ad revenues, which also included mobile advertising, social media advertising and search revenues.

In total, the IAB reported that internet ad revenues reached a record-breaking US$49.5 billion in 2014, a 16% increase on 2013, marking a fifth consecutive year of “double-digit growth” for the industry.
