Arabsat completes Saudi hub upgrade for STC

Middle East satellite operator Arabsat has completed the implementation of a project with Saudi telco STC to to renew and upgrade the latter’s satellite hub in Riyadh, with the goal of supporting STC’s position in providing premium satellite communication and broadband services to both private and governmental sectors.

“The multi-million dollars renewal allows reliable communications throughout Arabsat Badr-5, the new-state-of-the-art satellite on 26°E, with extensive footprint which facilitate the operations of STC with high throughput links. Arabsat and STC continue to work very closely to enhance their presence in domestic and international markets,” said Arabsat president and CEO Khalid Balkhayour.

“The establishment of the station in partnership with Arabsat, will endorse the depth of experience in both organizations, in the field of developing communications services provided via satellite industry in the Middle East, throughout such huge investments in infrastructure and facilities.
