Amazon in talks to join UltraViolet

Amazon is reportedly in talks to talks to join UltraViolet, an initiative backed by studios, retailers and technology firms to make purchased movies and TV shows available from an online locker.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Amazon is in talks with at least three studios about joining the UltraViolet consortium.

The discussions having been ongoing for several months, a technical questions about how Amazon’s locker would connect to other retailers has so far proved a “sticking point” according to the WSJ.
