EBU announces cross-platform authentication protocol

EBU logo2The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced the readiness of a cross-platform authentication platform it has been working on in collaboration with European public broadcasters. 

The protocol is said by the EBU to be interoperable and open, preserving data isolation between different organizations, supporting out of the box experiences and limited input devices including radio.

According to the EBU, the authentication protocol can allow broadcasters to give a unified user experience to their audience.

UK public broadcaster the BBC and Frontier Silicon have already rolled out an implementation plan that enables people to bookmark a song from their hybrid radio and add it to the BBC Playlister using RadioTag.
