Channel 4.0 surpasses 25 million views milestone

Channel 4’s digital-first brand for YouTube Channel 4.0 has hit over 25 million views and gained 104,000 subscribers within six months.

The UK pubcaster launched the YouTube channel on October 26 last year targeted at 16 to 24-year-olds which will house fresh new social formats centered on youth culture, with an emphasis on laughter and entertainment.

Channel 4.0 has since generated over 25 million views, with the UK 13- 24 demographic accounting for 82% of total views. Channel 4 said following 120 days from launch the digital brand had established a highly engaged core audience with 84% of views coming from returning users.

The digital platform has since commissioned 17 series during the six month period and has exhibited a loyal following of UK youths, with a current 99% like to dislike ratio.

Sacha Khari, head of digital commissioning at Channel 4 said: “Channel 4.0 was born to reach young people authentically and meaningfully on the platforms they are spending a chunk of their time, so to see that over 80% of views are coming from under 24s at this point is incredible.

“Creating a new loyalty to Channel 4 from a generation who are saturated with choice, has been a really exciting challenge to solve and with digital constantly evolving, we’re still trialling, learning and looking closely at the data and ‘vibes’ to ensure 4.0 continues on this trajectory.”

Channel 4.0 has announced a new all-female prank series Tapped Out in celebration of surpassing 25 million views.
