Samsung unveils smart TV games and new Skype app at IFA

Samsung TVSamsung has unveiled new games for its smart TV platform and an updated version of the Skype app at Berlin consumer electronics trade show, IFA.

The new version of Skype brings group video and full HD video calls to Samsung Smart TV 2014 models with built-in cameras.

The games, which will be available on the dedicated Games Panel of Samsung’s Smart TV hub, include EA-developed Need for Speed Most Wanted, Gameloft’s Real Football 2014 and Com2us’ Golf Star.

“The content available through TVs is more varied than ever before, and at Samsung we are committed to ensuring that we can provide the best breadth of content possible for every user, whatever their interests may be”, said Doug D’Souza, strategic content manger for Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland.

The apps released at IFA 2014 will be available to download for free globally, including in Europe, Korea, and the US.
