YouSee boss joins TV4 as channel director

Swedish broadcaster TV4 Group has appointed the head of Danish cable operator YouSee, Mathias Berg, as its new channel director.

Berg will take overall responsibility for TV4 Group’s linear and digital channels and platforms, as well as distribution, planning and business intelligence.

He takes up his new role effective August 25 and report to TV4 Group CEO Casten Almqvist. He succeeds Peter Lindstrom.

“TV4 is the leading broadcaster and is in a unique position to influence and lead developments in the TV market. To continue to be relevant to consumers and advertisers, no matter how technological progress changes the consumption and distribution structure, is a challenge I look forward to taking on along with new colleagues,” said Berg.

He first joined TDC-owned YouSee in 2011 as sales and marketing director before being upped to head of the company last year. Berg previously worked for Airplus TV and Modern Times Group, holding director roles at the latter in TV3 and TV6 in Sweden.
