UPC Poland appoints O2 Slovakia CEO

Liberty Global has appointed O2 Slovakia CEO Ramiro Lafarga Brollo as managing director of UPC Poland.

Brollo will take up his new role on July 1 after and replaces Simon Boyd who retired in late 2013.

He will take responsibility for all the day-to-day running of UPC Poland and joins after spending three years in charge of Telefonica-owned O2 in the Slovak Republic.

Prior to this and since 2002, Brollo held several senior positions in the Telefonica Group in Latin America, including commercial director for Telefonica Chile and Telefonica Sao Paulo.

“With Ramiro we will have an experienced leader for UPC Poland, with a proven track record in the telecoms industry. His experience in the telecom and dynamic mobile market fits perfectly with our activities in Poland, which is our largest operation in Central & Eastern Europe,” said Betzalel Kenigsztein, managing director Central and Eastern Europe for Liberty Global.
