BBC Worldwide appoints financial boss

BBC Worldwide has confirmed Andrew Bott as its new chief financial officer.

Bott has been in the CFO role on an interim basis since the departure of Philip Vincent late last year for drinks firm SAB Miller.

Bott was the financial chief at BBC Worldwide North America from 2007 and also took on financial responsibility for BBC Worldwide Global Advertising Sales in 2013.

As acting CFO, Bott became a director of BBC Worldwide and he will continue to sit on the Board.

Tim Davie, CEO of BBC Worldwide, says: “As our interim CFO, [Andrew’s] quick command of the company’s financial situation and priorities has led to very solid support and a healthy level of challenge.”

Bott added: “BBC Worldwide has set out a clear and ambitious strategy, based around premium content, new global BBC brands and digital transformation, and I’m looking forward to supporting and enabling this through the work of the Finance function.”

Before BBC Worldwide Bott worked for Pearson plc.
