Volia taps ADB for hybrid and OTT TV services

Ukrainian cable operator Volia has added ADB to its list of suppliers of OTT and hybrid OTT and cable set-top boxes.

ADB will supply boxes, software andn software integration services to Volia, enabling it further expand its OTT and hybrid offerings.

Volia will be using two new ADB set-top box models: the ADB-1720CW for hybrid cable and IP/OTT and the ADB-1720W for IP/OTT HD environments. The deal is ADB’s first in Ukraine.

ADB said that it is also also managing the software integration with Volia’s existing third-party applications. The project is already underway with completion slated for later this year.

Volia has previously announced that it is using Entone’s Aria Interactive DTA hybrid cable and IP device as its expands the Smart HD service across its own network and third-party networks.

Separately, Volia has launched a new premium sports package in time for the Brazil World Cup. The operator has made Ukraine Media Group’s Futbol 1 HD and Futbol 2 HD channels available as part of a Premium Sports HD pack.
