RGB Networks partners with Pi Telecom

Multiscreen video delivery specialist RGB Networks has partnered with interactive IP video solutions firm Pi Telecom to deliver an end-to-end software-based OTT solution.

The firms said that their joint offering will allow them to address mounting operator demand for video-on-demand and nDVR, as well as potential cost savings of moving applications to the cloud.

Pi Telecom says that its MediaStage family of products can be used in a wide range of interactive TV solutions and can be integrated with existing services for a Hybrid IPTV/OTT service, or scaled up to accommodate a full scale OTT rollout.

Combined with RGB’s software-based transcoding and packaging portfolio, providers get a “reliable, end-to-end OTT-IPTV solution” capable of being hosted in either public or private cloud environments and scaled to accommodate customer demand.

“The partnership offers smaller European operators the ability to take advantage of moving applications to agile cloud environments as part of their long-term business plans,” the firms said.

Pi Telecom is a subsidiary of Russian system integrator BCC and operates outside of Russia.

Pi Telecom’s MediaStage and RGB’s transcoding and packaging solution will be demoed at ANGA COM on RGB’s stand in hall 10.1, booth V18.
