Canal+ launches incubator fund

Canal+ Group has launched Canalstart, a new incubator fund to support young entrepreneurs in media and new technology.

The fund will focus in particular on audiovisual-related projects including enhanced user experience, interactivity and recommendation, projects that assist with customer retention and loyalty, social TV and mobile applications.

Projects can be submitted via a dedicated website, to be judged by an investment committee made up of audiovisual and new technology experts and entrepreneurs.

Canalstart will offer commercial, industrial and financial support that could take the form of partnerships involving the exchange of services and licensing contracts, according to the group.

Canalstart is being presented at Le Web digital event in Paris this week.
