Eurosport scores more Bundesliga rights

Eurosport has agreed a new deal for Bundesliga German soccer rights. The sports channel operator already carries games from the top two German leagues and the new deal gives it rights for two more seasons, starting in 2015/16.

As well as TV, Eurosport gets digital rights meaning it can make matches available on its TV everywhere service Eurosport Player. It is also and is permitted to sub-license rights across the territories covered by the deal.

Eurosport gets the extended Bundesliga rights across 22 territories in the Nordic and Central and Eastern Europe regions.

Eurosport CEO Jean-Thierry Augustin said: “Eurosport has played a key role in broadening the fan base for the Bundesliga beyond the German market and this is can be attributed to the depth of our coverage and the success of the teams within the League over that period.
