Al Jazeera starts HD Freeview rollout

Al Jazeera began its high definition rollout of Al Jazeera English on UK DTT platform Freeview last week.

The firm said that the launch of Al Jazeera English HD will be phased with transmitter sites being switched in major population areas between November 26 this year and June 2014.

“Al Jazeera is already on all the major TV platforms in the UK, the fact we now will be operating on Freeview in HD further enhances our distribution across the country,” said Al Anstey, managing director of Al Jazeera English.

Al Jazeera English HD will be available on Freeview HD channel 108.
