SES delays SES-8 satellite launch

Satellite operator SES has delayed the launch of its SES-8 satellite until November 28, saying that launch partner SpaceX found “unexpected readings” in the liquid oxygen system on the launch rocket.

Announcing its third quarter results earlier this month SES said that the satellite was due to launch on November 22 and start commercial operations in Q1 2014.

The rearranged Thursday date marks the “next launch opportunity,” said SES.
